OverviewInstall railroad track and reconstruct existing highway grade crossings along the South Florida Rail Corridor. Performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor and the use of hand and power tools to build and reconstruct railroad track.
Key Responsibilities- Execute manual labor for track installation and rehabilitation tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules, regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
- Load, move, and distribute materials in preparation of work activities for rail projects.
- Participate in job site clean‑up.
- Work safely around all types of moving equipment.
- Perform other track laborer duties as needed.
- Pass required railroad rules (GCOR) and RWP training.
Minimum Qualifications
- Prefer minimum one year of track laborer work experience or related manual labor (construction or similar).
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license;
Class A CDL preferred. - Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug test, background check, and physical exam.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs; constant bending, twisting, stooping, standing, and walking.
- Walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails, and ballast safely.
