Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join our growing logistics team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in freight forwarding and international ocean exports. Experience with Cargo Wise is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, including collections, bookings, and final delivery
- Prepare and process export documentation such as MBL, HBL, export declarations, delivery orders, and customs paperwork
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations, including permits and licenses for controlled goods
- Communicate daily with steamship lines, co-loaders, truckers, and other carriers to confirm bookings, shipment status, and transportation arrangements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing shipment updates, resolving issues, and ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Track and trace shipments throughout transit, maintaining accurate data entry and milestone updates
- Handle financial administration, including client invoicing and verification of vendor payables
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics (required)
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs, and logistics processes
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, reliability, strong problem-solving abilities, and customer service focus
- Cargo Wise experience is a strong plus
- Education:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus
- Salary: $59,000 per year + overtime
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
