Summary Of Duties:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position performs duties with or without direct supervision and also serves as a general facilities technician when HVAC-specific work is not required.
The heating and air conditioning specialist is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the Casino’s heating and air conditioning units and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Install, inspect, and service HVAC systems including ductwork, thermostats, and controls.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions; perform timely and effective repairs.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Test electrical circuits and components for proper operation and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with team members, guests, and vendors.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and independently when required, while maintaining clear communication and coordination with others.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding privileged, proprietary, guest, and employer information during and beyond the term of employment.
- Adhere to all company work rules, policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed casino internal control policies and practices.
- Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Perform general facilities maintenance tasks when HVAC-specific work is not required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or technical school preferred.
- Valid HVAC certification (e.g., EPA Section 608 Certification) required.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience with commercial HVAC systems strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
- Requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to work independently, with or without direct supervision.
- Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds daily.
- Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and temperature.
- Must be able to maintain focus and professionalism in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
