Mid-level Design Engineer - Dayton, OH

LJB Engineering is a national, multi‑disciplinary engineering consulting firm with multiple business lines including Transportation, Water Resources, Geospatial and Site Design, Buildings Structure Design and Safety/Fall Protection Design/Installation. Our diverse expertise, client base, and geographies have enabled LJB to serve clients in all 50 U.S. states and several countries.

We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full‑time Mid‑Level Design Engineer position in Dayton, Ohio
. The successful candidate will possess a can‑do attitude, have a passion for and take pride in their work, be a creative thinker, and have a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently.

Pay: $85,000 – 140,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

• Perform engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project manager.
• Provide engineering design services for traditional design‑bid‑build projects and design‑build projects.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design and construction plans.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors and client managers.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance.
• Actively participate and serve in positions with professional organization(s).

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
• P.E. license required

• 4-9 years of experience required
• Experience working with DOTs preferred
• AutoCAD Civil 3D software experience preferred
