Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will be a key contributor in executing core financial administration, preparing financial statements, implementing a new ERP (the Archway Platform), and coordinating with internal and external partners (e.g., tax professionals, attorneys, banking partners).
This role is not solely back-office; it combines core accounting with analysis and reporting to provide a complete financial picture. The right candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and possess a strong desire to learn. The role is based in the Cincinnati/Dayton, OH area.
Core Responsibilities- Support the CFO in overseeing daily accounting, financial operations, and reporting.
- Lead implementation of the new accounting ERP system (the Archway Platform for family offices).
- Manage accounting and analysis for multiple family office entities and investment partnerships (holding public, private, and/or fund investments).
- Apply knowledge of investment fund complexities (e.g., side-pocketing, profits interest reallocations, allocation of profit/loss, intercompany transactions).
- Maintain the general ledger, including the preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments for all entities.
- Process A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliations for several entities.
- Monitor cash balances and oversee wires and payments.
- Assist with delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (balance sheets, income statements, cash projections, investment / performance reports, etc.) to stakeholders.
- Manage coordination and preparation of Partnership (Form 1065) and C-Corp (Form 1120) tax filings with external tax advisors.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and provide insights into financial performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance internal and external efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- 5 – 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the family office, wealth management, and/or fund accounting environments.
- 3+ years of public accounting firm experience preferred.
