Solar Sales Consultant

We're hiring a results-driven Solar Sales Consultant to help homeowners, businesses, farms, and municipalities across Ohio and the Midwest make the switch to solar. You'll own the customer journey from first conversation to signed agreement — backed by an in-house engineering team and 15+ years of delivered projects that make every promise easy to keep.

• Build and manage a pipeline of residential and commercial solar prospects from inbound leads, referrals, and your own outreach.
• Run consultations to understand each customer's energy usage, goals, and budget.
• Prepare and present tailored proposals covering system design, savings, financing, and incentives (ITC, USDA REAP, PPAs).
• Guide customers clearly through agreements, financing options, and the path to installation.
• Keep accurate records and forecasts in the CRM and follow up promptly at every stage.
• Represent SP&L professionally at site visits, community events, and industry functions.

• 2+ years of consultative sales experience — solar, home improvement, or energy a strong plus.
• A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Able to explain financing, ROI, and technical concepts in plain language.
• Self-motivated, organized, and disciplined with a CRM.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for consultations.
