CNC Operator

SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, this individual performs the duties of setting up and operating numerically controlled and conventional machine tools within the machining area, producing a variety of diversified finished parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe set-up and operation of CNC equipment with supervision, focusing on quality, cost, and delivery
• Inspection of parts
• Operate standalone and secondary processes independently
• Ensure proper daily maintenance of all assigned equipment
• Report any product or equipment concerns to the appropriate person
• Maintain proper relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and outside contacts
• Perform and record in-process inspections as required
• Perform other duties and assist in other areas as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year CNC machining experience preferred.

Skills:

• Language Skills
  :
  Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical manuals, and regulations. Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with others.
• Mathematical Skills
  :
  Ability to read blueprints and gauges; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions; work with concepts like probability, geometry, and trigonometry. Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
• Reasoning Ability
  :
  Demonstrate common sense, interpret instructions, handle multiple tasks, and solve problems involving both abstract and concrete variables.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Physical Demands
  :
  Must be able to stand regularly, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate. Frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and focus adjustments.
• Work Environment
  :
  Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical risks, and vibration. Moderate noise levels; some work areas require ear protection.
