Job Overview
Maintenance Tech II at Central States – Responsible for electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to buildings, as well as troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
Responsibilities- Make electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to buildings, and troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
- Diagnose and remedy electrical or electronic troubles; repair and replace equipment as needed.
- Perform fabrication maintenance.
- Obtain a forklift operator’s license and safely operate a forklift.
- Cut and join metal parts using a variety of techniques.
- Weld and cut all types of material using electric arc, oxyacetylene, or other welding techniques in horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Maintain tools provided by the company and furnish own tools to function properly in this role.
- Enter equipment records, data, and notes into computerized maintenance management system.
- Read drawings, troubleshoot, and perform repairs independently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma and minimum of three years of relative work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery; ability to read and interpret technical drawings, prints, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) as well as verbal instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair AC and DC controls, devices, and machines; basic knowledge of CNC controls, functions, and operation; basic knowledge of DC and AC drives.
- Skills to fabricate, maintain, join, and cut ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structures using various techniques.
- Ability to weld and cut all types of material using electric arc, oxyacetylene, or other welding techniques in horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Ability to work at other facilities, weekends, other shifts, and be on call.
- Ability to read a tape measure, perform basic mathematical calculations, and use a calculator.
- Ability to learn production operations.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 pounds, and perform tasks requiring twisting, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work while exposed to outside weather conditions.
