Cost Accountant | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report on root causes.
• Perform inventory valuation for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analyses for management.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process for production costs.
• Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
• Provide cost data to support product pricing decisions and new product development.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights

• Advanced proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with ERP system implementations or upgrades.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
