Manufacturing Accountant

reporting to controller, the incumbent is responsible for providing accounting services and support to the finance team, other departments, and the customer/supply base.

• accounting functions: assist in maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable systems in canada and other locations as required.
• customer service
  : assist with customer and vendor queries.
• reporting: maintain records on accounts receivable and accounts payable systems. Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules. Provide reports and support for audits, budgeting, legal and other issues. Perform monthly variance analysis.
• receivables: timely submission of invoices to customers. Process customer payments as required.
  payables
  : timely processing of supplier invoices. Assist with organizing supplier payment schedules.
• communication: liaison with all departments on invoicing discrepancies/issues. Create sop for department tasks and cross-train with coworkers. Represent the finance department in meetings with other departments, upper management and 3rd-party organizations.
• other duties as required, including special projects as they arise.

• ability to cope with multiple priorities, set direction and achieve goals.
• act independently, with a sense of urgency, and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges and fast paced environment.
• good written and verbal communication, negotiation, computer, organizational and time management skills.
• knowledge of accounting and mathematics procedures and regulations is an asset.
• must have strong computer knowledge.
