We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fully onsite team in Michigan. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who brings solid experience managing end-to-end payables in a deadline-driven setting and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through. The position focuses on invoice review, vendor support, payment execution, and close coordination with internal partners to keep financial operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete accounts payable cycle, from receiving invoices and assigning codes to preparing payments and maintaining accurate records.
• Process a steady volume of invoices each week while verifying supporting details and ensuring timely entry into the accounting system.
• Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation to confirm that transactions are accurate before payment is released.
• Investigate billing differences, respond to vendor questions, and work with internal departments to resolve pricing or documentation issues.
• Administer payment activity through methods such as ACH and check runs in alignment with established timelines and procedures.
• Maintain vendor files, support new vendor setup, and keep account information current and well documented.
• Reconcile vendor statements, review open items, and follow up on outstanding balances to prevent aging issues.
• Assist with month-end accounts payable tasks, including accrual support, reconciliations, and preparation of organized backup documentation.
• Partner with purchasing, receiving, and accounting teams to improve efficiency and ensure a consistent flow of information across the payables process.
