Job Overview

The Field Crew Supervisor oversees internal field crew work, ensuring crew satisfaction, and efficient team coordination. This role is responsible for supervising Field Crew competency and maintaining safety and quality standards on job sites. The Supervisor works closely with Project Managers and is expected to spend approximately 80% of their time in the field and 20% in the office performing administrative and strategic oversight.

Flexibility and adaptability are essential to success in this role.

Role-Specific Requirements (Field Crew Supervisor)
  • Arrive on time and fully prepared with all necessary equipment/tools (e.g., extra blades, fasteners, battery chargers, etc.) in good condition. Have an in-depth knowledge of construction processes, including framing, finish, tile, and concrete.
  • Complete construction work in coordination with the field crews, ensuring high quality while strictly maintaining the job schedule.
  • Direct, coach, and teach Lead Carpenters, Carpenters, and General Laborers on daily tasks, general construction techniques, and efficiency improvements. Provide regular coaching, feedback, and training to enhance skills and ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Monitor the performance and workload of all field crew, ensuring they meet deadlines and follow company protocols. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase team efficiency.
  • Conduct a minimum of two monthly one-on-one check-ins with the field crew to discuss job status, challenges, and professional growth. Hold the field crew accountable for adhering to core values and project delivery standards. Approve and manage Field Crew time-off requests.
  • Participate in the field crew hiring process, including interviewing applicants. Develop and implement training programs for new hires focusing on tools, processes, and company culture. Conduct 30-day, 90-day, and yearly performance reviews following management guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Risk Management Officer to monitor site safety and maintain OSHA standards.
  • Communicate with the Project Managers daily about job site performance and activities, including informing them of job site changes as needed.
  • Regularly attend and participate in project management meetings to provide site input and ensure alignment. Dedicate time to review upcoming plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to anticipate field issues and plan logistics.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management regarding current field processes, technology use (like Buildertrend), and safety protocols to drive continuous improvement.
All Team Members Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Prior construction experience is required; supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with email, calendars, scheduling, and construction management software.
  • Ability to adhere to 5S organizational principles.
  • Assist in creating, revising, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts and provide constructive suggestions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and make our clients' construction experience World Class.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Salary - based on an average 45-hour work week

Compensation

Salary position (Negotiable based on experience). Production bonus opportunities.
