Copernican Media specializes in creating beautiful and entertaining commercials, documentaries, and explainer videos for mission-driven brands. Our full-service video production includes pitching campaign concepts, writing scripts, producing high-end commercials, and creating beautiful deliverables in post-production. Additionally, we offer motion graphics and animation to enhance explainer videos and add an extra layer of polish to live-action projects.

In-person (not remote) at our office in Hillsdale, MI. Flexible schedules and relocation assistance are available.

As an animator and editor, you will be working closely with the director to make beautiful things in post-production. For animation projects, you will be designing 2D, 2.5D, and even some 3D animations in After Effects with an eye toward clean and elegant design. For live-action projects, you will be editing videos that have a compelling beginning, a meaningful middle, and a satisfying ending.

To be excellent in this role, you should develop an intuitive sense of aesthetics and design while also understanding the technical aspects of the workflow.

• Knows our editing software (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, and After Effects) inside and out
• Has a collaborative, cheerful spirit
• Anticipates problems before they arise, and acts quickly to solve them when they do
• Has an eye for beauty and is always chasing creative excellence
• Capable of editing a good story and delivering on deadlines
• Able to assist where needed on-set

• 2-4 years of experience in video production
• After Effects or design experience
• Knowledge of non-linear editing workflows (Premiere or Resolve)

• Love of producing excellent work—even if you fall short of your ideas
• Love of learning—both in technical skill and artistic taste
• Love of collaboration, honesty, and integrity

Anticipated salary range: $55,000-$75,000, depending on experience.
