Position Title: District MTSS & At-Risk Systems Coach
Terms: Per RCEA Contract. Full-time, 210 days per year. Funded 100% through Section 31a (At-Risk). Position is contingent upon continued categorical funding and Board approval.
Salary: Per RCEA Contract (Teacher Salary Schedule + Extended-Year Stipend)
Reports to: Director of State & Federal Programs

Position SummaryReed City Area Public Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled educational leader to support district-wide systems that accelerate student achievement and strengthen the MTSS framework. This position offers the opportunity to guide and influence MTSS and At-Risk programming across all RCAPS schools, ensuring students receive high-quality, equitable supports. The District MTSS & At-Risk Systems Coach will play a critical role in advancing instructional alignment, data-driven practices, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the district.
ProgramImplementation & Alignment
- Help ensure that 31a-funded supports and MTSS practices align with district goals and needs.
- Work with building teams to keep intervention supports organized, consistent, and compliant.
- Keep required documentation organized and ready for review.
- Support schools as they work together on MTSS routines and problem‑solving.
- Help teams assess student needs across Tiers 1–3 and adjust supports as needed.
- Check for consistency in how interventions are delivered and accessed.
- Assist buildings with identifying at‑risk students throughout the year.
- Maintain district tools and records used for tracking student eligibility.
- Prepare the required 31a reporting information, including unduplicated counts.
- Review intervention data to determine what is working and where adjustments may be needed.
- Keep records organized for audit and monitoring.
- Work with the state and district teams to ensure accurate reporting.
- Help confirm that activities funded through 31a meet program requirements.
- Support schools in building consistent MTSS routines and practices.
- Partner with administrators, coaches, and intervention staff to strengthen systems.
- Assist with professional learning related to MTSS, instruction, and data use.
- Communicate with MDE partners when clarification or support is needed.
- Help track progress toward MTSS and 31a goals.
- Prepare summaries and updates to support district decision‑making.
- Connect MTSS tools and data with district improvement work.
- Assist with family engagement activities that qualify under Section 31a.
- Support outreach efforts that help families understand student supports and resources.
- Assist with allowable Section 31a-funded family engagement initiatives and outreach efforts.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (required).
- Master’s degree in education, curriculum, or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of MTSS, continuous improvement processes, and Section 31a legislation.
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience with MICIP authoring, progress monitoring, and MTSS implementation preferred.
