• Must be qualified and certified to teach in the State of Michigan and possess the necessary educational background and certification for the position as determined by the District.
• Current endorsement in English (BA or BX); special consideration may be given for dual certification.
• Be willing and able to deliver effective classroom instruction that results in student learning and growth.
• Possess excellent classroom management skills.
• Possess a strong desire to work with high school aged students and their parents.
• Be willing to participate in a variety of extra‑curricular and co‑curricular activities including staff development, curriculum development and clubs.

• Be willing to work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction and to produce successful learners.

• Be an excellent communicator with students, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
