PreK–8 Shared Art Teacher
Locations:
St. Mary’s Middle School (Monroe) & St. Charles Academy (Newport)

St. Mary’s Middle School in Monroe and St. Charles Academy in Newport are seeking a dynamic and creative PreK–8 Art Teacher to serve both campuses. This is a shared position dedicated to inspiring and developing a love for art in students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Every teacher is a member of the professional staff with responsibilities in the areas of instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student/parent relations, faith life, and community relations.

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging art lessons for students in grades PreK–8 at both schools.
• Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels encouraged to explore their creativity.
• Integrate age-appropriate art history, techniques, and media into lessons.
• Collaborate with staff and administration to support cross-curricular connections and school-wide projects.
• Contribute to the Catholic identity of our schools by supporting our mission and values while modeling the Catholic moral codes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education (preferred)
• Valid teaching certification (or eligibility) in Art Education
• Experience teaching art to children in a school setting
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive, supportive, and flexible learning environment
• Commitment to and support of Catholic education and values
