Job Description:
Provide personal care, instructional assistance, and tutoring, primarily to special needs students. Assists teachers in the district classrooms by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education and positive behavioral support programs.
Qualifications:- Pass a skills test approved by the Michigan Department of Education.
- Ability to work well with children who are disadvantaged or who have special needs
- Willing to work one-on-one with a student
- Must be flexible and self-directed in a variety of situations
- Must demonstrate patience and compassion
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with young children.
- Basic computer literacy is required.
- Organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a positive, productive way.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community while projecting a positive image that enhances the school.
- Demonstrate the ability to keep confidentiality in regards to the Family Privacy Act.
