Lunchroom Aide

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lunchroom Aide at Durand Area School District. This part-time position involves assisting in the daily operations of the school lunchroom, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting a positive school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assist students during lunch periods, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
• Help set up and clean up the lunchroom before and after meal service.
• Assist in serving food and beverages, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Monitor student behavior and encourage positive interactions among peers.
• Ensure that lunchroom equipment and facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Report any concerns regarding student behavior or safety to appropriate staff members.
• Support the kitchen staff as needed, including assisting with food preparation and inventory management.
• Promote healthy eating habits and encourage students to make nutritious choices.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Must have pass background checks by contacting Tonya Conrad at the Durand Area Schools Administration building for fingerprint instructions and any other required screenings.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate school lunch hours.
