Certified K-8 Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Certified K-8 Teacher to join our team at Tawas Area Middle School, with 2 additional endorsements preferred. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, inspiring students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with parents, and contribute to the overall mission of our school community.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to design interdisciplinary projects and support student learning across subjects.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect and responsibility among students.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Engage in school-wide activities, including clubs, events, and parent-teacher conferences, to foster a strong school community.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid state teaching certification for K-8 education.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficient in using technology for instruction and communication.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Experience in a K-8 educational setting is preferred but not required.
• Passion for teaching and a genuine desire to support student growth and development.
