In this role, youll:

• Collaborate closely with teachers and educational staff to meet each students individual needs
• Monitor student comprehension, offering instructional or behavioral reinforcement as directed by classroom teachers
• Facilitate classroom communication by introducing and explaining new vocabulary, supporting instruction, and encouraging students self-advocacy
• Reinforce classroom routines and contribute to a positive learning environment
• Provide assistance to teachers and staff when possible, while maintaining your focus on ASL language support

Desired

Qualifications:

• Current and valid American Sign Language License (as required by state regulations)
• Experience as a school-based sign language interpreter or teacher of American Sign Language is preferred
• Knowledge of best practices in ASL language facilitation and understanding of educational environments
