Overview
This is a site-based Wind Technician opening for a wind farm site near Bad Axe, Michigan. This is a local position so no relocation assistance will be offered to non-local candidates. Although previous wind turbine maintenance experience is preferred, this opportunity is also available to mechanically/electrically inclined candidates with transferrable skills looking to join the wind industry.
Responsibilities- Change gearbox oil in a designated area or wind field.
- Grease/torque wind turbines.
- Perform checks on turbines and repair problems as needed.
- Replace mechanical components.
- Service blade and hub components as required by turbine type.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Strong mechanical skillset and ability to quickly pick up new mechanical concepts
- Ability to climb towers daily/work at heights
- Strong safety mindset
- 1+ years of maintenance experience on Wind turbines or associated equipment
- Graduated from a technical program in Wind Turbine Technology
- Entry level
