Holtec Palisades is seeking a Nuclear Core Design Engineer to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

The Nuclear Core Design Engineer will play a crucial role in developing the Palisades reactor core design. This position requires a deep understanding of nuclear reactor design, expertise in core modeling software, and neutronics.

• Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules, regulations, and quality assurance standards.
• Conduct core design and analysis for Palisades Nuclear Reactor.
• Coordinate activities with other team members on engineering/technical issues.
• Support regular interface and communication with fuel vendors.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure successful integration of core design into reactor systems.
• Apply strong analytical, problem-solving, and process skills.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in nuclear safety.

Education:

B.S. in Engineering or related scientific discipline; nuclear engineering B.S. or M.S. preferred. Equivalent work experience at the Engineer/Technical Specialist level may be considered.

Experience:

Nuclear Power Plant Core Design experience preferred; nuclear core design qualification highly preferred.

Skills:
Good to excellent communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in PC applications, experience with CASMO/SIMULATE and GARDEL software preferred.
