Virtual Assembly Engineer

In your day‑to‑day activities, you’ll work with multiple customers as a consultant and trusted partner in Sandalwood’s areas of expertise:
Injury Prevention, Systems Engineering, and Systems Integration. You’ll help customers innovate, solve their current struggles, and guide them with the power of Sandalwood’s deeply ingrained subject matter expertise.

Attributes
  • Ability to establish priorities and work both independently and with a team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates a qualified and professional appearance and provides a competent representation of Sandalwood to the customer.
  • Experience with MODAPTS, automotive products, production processes and protocols, knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles (time standards, optimization, etc.), and Siemens PLM products such as Teamcenter, Process Simulate, and/or Jack.
  • Ability to use Process Simulate to create simulations of automotive assembly lines and read and understand manufacturing process sheets.
  • Knowledge of the product development process and experience with CAD modeling and simulation tools.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently with direction, and work in a team to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Experience with Virtual Reality or Motion Capture.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and take on new challenges with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities
  • Create, manage, and maintain plant, process, and product structures in Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Create workstation and full line simulations using Siemens PLM Process Simulate software.
  • Identify, track, and help lead to resolution of any issues critical to quality, process, workstation design, labor standards, ergonomics, tool clearance, and assembly feasibility.
  • Lead weekly virtual assembly review meetings with stakeholders from a variety of engineering teams.
  • Participate in and support team activities on projects, working collaboratively with technical specialists.
Requirements
  • B.S. or higher in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 1‑3 years or more of industry experience.
  • Ability to travel to different locations to support project work.
