Key Responsibilities- Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Perform dimensional inspection of manufactured components using CMMs to verify conformance to specifications.
- Interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Analyze measurement data, generate comprehensive inspection reports, and communicate findings to relevant teams.
- Troubleshoot CMM software, hardware, and programming issues to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize inspection methods and resolve quality discrepancies.
- Assist in the selection, setup, and maintenance of CMM fixturing and other metrology equipment.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
- Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T principles.
- Ability to accurately interpret engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.
- Experience with various CMM types and measurement methodologies.
- Knowledge of metrology best practices and measurement uncertainty.
- Advanced proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) application and interpretation.
- Experience with multiple CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, Poly Works).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA) for model manipulation and analysis.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and data analysis.
- Experience in designing or modifying custom fixturing for CMM measurements.
