Introductory Employment Period

Your employment will begin with an introductory period of 90 days starting from your first day of work. This period supports your transition into the role and provides an opportunity for both you and Archaea to assess fit and performance. During this time, we’ll evaluate your performance, conduct, and reliability against role expectations and company values, while offering guidance and feedback to help you succeed.

During the introductory period, your supervisor will evaluate your ability to meet the following expectations:

At the conclusion of the period, if performance is satisfactory, continued at‑will employment will be confirmed. If performance is not satisfactory, employment may be terminated. Employment is at‑will during and after the probationary period.

About

The Role

The Wellfield Technician is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and performance of a landfill gas wellfield.

Key Accountabilities
  • Operate the wellfield during your shift in the most efficient and productive manner while maintaining compliance with the site‑specific Title V Operating Permit, SOPs, and safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain daily logs and obtain readings in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Follow all plant and landfill safety policies and procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean workspace including the plant building, control room, rest room, break room, and grounds.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Perform landfill tuning duties by recording and storing data as required.
  • Adjust/tune wellfield as required to maximize gas quantity and quality.
  • Maintain wellfield database and associated logs to meet regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Document wellhead readings, coordinate, communicate, and verify corrective actions to maintain continuous compliance.
  • Observe applicable safety and environmental regulations while performing assigned tasks.
  • Assist supervisory staff with operational planning of construction projects and gas collection field expansions.
  • Ensure project compliance with government rules, regulations, the site‑specific Title V Permit and NSPS guidelines.
  • Respond to callouts in a timely manner and work overtime as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the facility all‑terrain vehicle.
  • Ensure that all analytical equipment calibrations and record‑keeping is current.
  • Acquire knowledge of all gas collection equipment.
  • Perform analytical tests and document as required (e.g., calibration of data collection and gas analysis instruments).
Essential Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Essential Experience
  • Intermediate electrical, chemical, and mechanical experience.
  • Previous landfill gas operation experience a plus; minimum of 1‑3 years in landfill gas processing, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, or power plant operations or equivalent.
  • Understanding of process control systems as applied to landfill gas collection and processing.
  • Knowledge of basic math, gas chemistry, piping and instrumentation drawings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Demonstrated use of a calculator to perform the above calculations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
