Job DescriptionThe responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer include analyzing the operating environment; this includes identifying process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. This person will conduct time and motion studies, conceptualize improvements, and assist in developing business cases. They will also develop and evaluate pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes, as well as implement new and enhanced processes and tools.
The IE will design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.

- Develop labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods; measuring work performance.
- Improve labor utilization by studying work methods; testing modifications; designing new methods; recommending job restructuring.
- Improve workflow by studying process flow charts; recommending modifications in workflow, work stations and product; developing new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases.
- Reduce waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommending changes; identifying and analyzing waste.
- Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
- Prepare work‑analysis information and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Complete work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
- Maintain operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures and methods.
- Protect organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering field.
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience within an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience working with AutoCAD.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
