Engineering Co-op – Where the Classroom Meets Real Product Launches
Ever wish your classes came with real parts, real customers, and real deadlines? At Global Tec, we build custom wire harness and cable assemblies for medical, datacom, aerospace and defense customers, and we're looking for a Co-op to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) and process engineering team. You'll help take brand-new products from a customer's drawing to a part that's built right, tested, and shipped.
WhyYou'll Love It Here
We're not your typical factory. This is a fun, caring, and supportive place where people actually look out for each other. You'll work side by side with NPI technicians and process engineers who want to hear your ideas, and who learn right alongside you. No coffee runs, no busywork. You'll get real projects, a real seat at the table, and a team that celebrates wins together.
WhatYou'll Do
- Build prototypes and pilot runs to prove a product can be built right the first time
- Review customer drawings and CAD data and flag manufacturability questions early
- Help develop fixtures, tooling, operating instructions, and production documentation
- Support PPAP packages: control plans, PFMEA, process flows, and part layouts
- Create BOMs, routings, and new assembly items in our ERP system (Plex)
- Recommend components, tooling, and materials based on product requirements
- Join process reviews and hand-offs from engineering to production, and bring ideas for continuous improvement
- Partner with quality and purchasing on environmental compliance (ROHS/REACH)
- You're currently pursuing a BS in electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or a related technical program
- A curious mind, strong problem-solving skills, and an eye for detail
- Good communication skills, written and spoken, and a team-player attitude
- Comfort with Excel. AutoCAD, Lean tools, and wire harness experience are a plus, not a requirement
- Good attendance, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Hands-on experience launching real products, not a binder of busy work
- Learn the IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards the wire harness industry runs on
- Direct access to engineers and team leaders who value your input
- A fun, family-like culture with genuine care for our team
- A clean, modern facility and a front-row seat to the career paths at a growing manufacturer
If you're a student who wants to see your engineering skills turn into something real, we want to hear from you.
Let's build something that matters-together.
