CFO

Location: Washington

We are partnering with a dynamic, entrepreneurial investment firm in Washington, DC that is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team and help drive the organization's next phase of growth. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a strategic and hands-on finance executive who thrives in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, optimizing operations, supporting capital initiatives, and building the infrastructure necessary to support continued expansion.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong financial leadership, operational expertise, and experience within lending, servicing, specialty finance, or asset-backed investment environments.

Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, tax, compliance, and financial reporting functions

Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial performance, growth initiatives, and capital allocation decisions

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, cash flow planning, and financial modeling

Manage relationships with lenders, banking partners, auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders

Support financing transactions, capital formation initiatives, and strategic growth opportunities

Develop and enhance financial reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators

Evaluate operational efficiencies and implement scalable processes, systems, and internal controls

Partner cross-functionally with operations and business leaders to support decision-making and improve performance

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team Qualifications
10+ years of proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Fund CFO, Corporate Controller, or senior finance executive

Strong understanding of lending operations, loan portfolio management, servicing economics, financing facilities, and capital structures

Experience supporting or overseeing asset-backed finance structures, warehouse facilities, securitizations, or other structured financing arrangements

Deep knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, treasury management, and internal controls

Experience managing audits, tax compliance, and external advisory relationships

Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a growing organization

Track record of building scalable finance functions, processes, and reporting infrastructure

Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to effectively interact with executive leadership, investors, lenders, and board-level audiences CPA strongly preferred; MBA or other advanced financial credentials are a plus
