Summary

MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR UP TO $20,000 SIGN ON BONUS! This position delegates responsibility to the Physical Therapist Assistant and Aides. Activities are patient-focused, utilizing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient function through testing to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessments and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans for physician approval and update as needed.
• Design treatment schedules tailored to patient needs, coordinating with patients, families, and staff.

Certifications and Licensures

• APTA membership preferred
• Physical Therapist license in Michigan (new grads considered)
• Basic Life Support certification

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (minimum)
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (preferred)

Additional Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Supervise therapy assistants, aides, and students.
• Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment.
• Document patient responses and treatment progress.
• Participate in team meetings and community education.

Other requirements include OSHA training, ability to handle infectious materials, physical mobility, and communication skills. The position involves medium physical demand, including lifting and standing, with exposure to infectious risks.
