- Provide language interpretation services for patients/families.
- Ensure patients/families understand each speaker’s message accurately.
- Replicate the register, style and tone of the speaker.
- Maintain objectivity and avoid personal bias.
- Adhere to National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Bilingual in one of the following languages:
Russian, Ukrainian or Spanish. - Pass required bilingual fluency and conversation skills, and have knowledge of medical terminology and interpreting ethics.
- Maintain required certification or qualifications for medical interpreting.
- Demonstrate exemplary customer‑relation skills and professional demeanor.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality of information available within the department and hospital.
Munson Healthcare requires all employees to be vaccinated or have lab‑confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. All employees must also receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or have an approved medical or religious exemption.
