Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) / Phlebotomist serves as the front-line representative for patients seeking routine testing or insights into life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional patient experience while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

Job Duties
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
  • Prepare, process, and accurately label specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Explain procedures clearly and establish patient trust and confidence.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Work independently under the guidance of an area supervisor to complete daily activities on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using established procedures and judgment.
Scheduling & Availability Requirements
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
  • Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the full shift.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
  • Time Zone:
    All shifts, all days of the week.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Transportation & Travel Requirements
  • Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation, Uber, or rideshare not considered reliable).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required if applicable.
  • Must be able to cover multiple Patient Service Center and in-office locations with minimal notice.
Additional Requirements & Preferences
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Site may require additional credentialing.
  • Must comply with all company policies, including dress code, health & safety, and Everyday Excellence guiding principles.
