Job Summary

The Phlebotomist – Patient Services Representative (Traveler) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking routine care or critical diagnostic insights. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and patient safety in a fast-paced clinical environment. The PSR builds trust with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing venipuncture in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

Assignments may take place in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality.
  • Promote a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience
  • 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy skills.
  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance history.

Scheduling & Work Requirements
  • Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • May be required to work multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Must be available whenever scheduled, arrive on time, and remain on-site for the entire shift.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required if applicable.
