Bronson Healthcare – BLH Bronson Lake View Hospital

Under supervision of the environmental services manager, the environmental services technician maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, public areas, surgical areas, stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, providing service to internal and external customers, following regulatory requirements and conducting audits for quality compliance.

• Maintain assignment of cleaning duties following the system’s ten steps of cleaning.
• Perform most duties while standing, sitting, walking, lifting and reaching up to 50 pounds.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as IMops, vacuums, and sweepers.
• Detail clean vents, fan fixtures, door frames, etc.
• Clean public areas: lobbies, waiting rooms, restrooms, elevators, and other assigned areas.
• Collect and dispose sharps, trash, and linen.
• Restock supplies, document tasks, communicate with nurses and staff.
• Operate mechanical floor equipment and UV disinfection equipment.
• Other duties such as laundry, recycling, biomedical waste processing.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication in English (≥ 8th grade).
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Bronson positively.
• Excellent customer service, thoroughness, and time‑management skills.
• Comfortableޚ accepting delegation and negotiating task priorities.
• Michigan driver’s license and insurability for BBC roles (if applicable).
• High school diploma/GED not required (effective April 19, 2021).
• көр Compliance with relevant laws, regulations (CDC, OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission) and policies.
• Knowledge of isolation procedures, sharp management, and HIPAA confidentiality.

• Conduct work ~40% of time on a personal computer or CRT.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and occasional ladder use up to 4 feet.
• Work in confined and occupied spaces, use of electrical equipment, and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Second Shift, Full time, 40 hours per week, Cost Center 1620 Environmental Services (BLH).
