Overview

HIS‑Mackinac operates two hotels on historic Mackinac Island, the Hotel Iroquois and Harbour View Inn. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park the island is flush with outdoor recreational activities while having a vibrant business community and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are on the island, just bicycle, foot and horse traffic.

Over 10,000 visitors a day make it a great place to live and play. During the summer season (early May through October) we employ approximately 150 people. We are seeking energetic Laundry Attendant staff to work full‑time in this unique environment.

• Clean bathrooms and public areas.
• Load, wash, press, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, and amenities; stock linen closets and carts.
• Wash, press, and fold hotel uniforms.
• Perform minor sewing duties and remove stains from items using the necessary procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
• Oversee evening laundry team ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
• Keep inventory of hotel and restaurant linen.

• No minimum education or experience required.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• Post‑employment criminal background check and drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of drug use.

• Wage: $15.92/hour, overtime at $23.88/hour.

• Workers paid bi‑weekly.

• Optional lodging available: $90/week (deducted from pay) or $135/week (deducted from pay). Housing deposit of $150 due upon arrival.

• On‑the‑job training provided.

• Raises and bonuses may be offered at the company’s discretion based on performance, skill, and tenure.
