The Carriage House at the Hotel Iroquois is located in the premier location on historic Mackinac Island. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park, the island offers abundant outdoor recreational activities, a vibrant business community, and a thriving tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are allowed on the island – only bicycles, foot, and horse traffic – creating a unique, time‑free experience.
With over 10,000 visitors a day, it is a great place to live and play.
We employ approximately 100 people during the summer season, from early May through October. Staff receive board, along with a continental breakfast, light lunch, and dinner daily prepared in our staff kitchen. Meals are balanced and nutritious, and accommodations are an apartment‑style complex in the residential district adjoining the State Park property and trails.
Responsibilities- Work lunch/dinner service on the hot line
- Cook food and prepare top‑quality menu items in a timely manner
- Grill, middle, and sauté stations for fine dining à la carte service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
- High school diploma or GED
- Two to three years à la carte line cook experience preferred
