The Hotel Iroquois and Carriage House Restaurant are located in the premier waterfront area on historic Mackinac Island. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park, the area offers outdoor recreational activities alongside a vibrant business community and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are allowed on the island—bicycles, foot, and horse traffic only—giving visitors a nostalgic experience.

With over 10,000 visitors a day, the island is an exciting place to live and work.

We are looking for energetic staff who enjoy meeting new people from different parts of the country and from various cultures. Approximately 100 employees work for us during the summer season, from early May through October. We provide board for our staff: continental breakfast, light lunch, and dinner daily in the staff kitchen, along with a comfortable apartment‑style complex facility near the state park.

• Entry‑level fine dining restaurant position.
• Hosting, bussing, bar‑back, and breakfast attendant duties.
• Welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Guiding guests through the dining rooms and providing assistance as needed.
• Moving and arranging tables, chairs, and settings, and organizing seating for groups with special needs.
• Ensuring place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and all items part of the standard setting.
• Checking menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle‑free.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas throughout the day with clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Setting up, servicing, and breaking down continental breakfast.
• Monitoring dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Assisting servers and bartenders to maintain service flow.

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
