HIS-Mackinac owns and operates two hotels on historic Mackinac Island, the Hotel Iroquois and Harbour View Inn. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park, the island is flush with outdoor recreational activities while having a vibrant business community and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are on the island, just bicycle, foot and horse traffic.

It is like going back in time! With over 10,000 visitors a day it is a great place to live and play.

We employ approximately 150 people over the course of the summer season from early May through October. We are looking for staff who are energetic and interested in meeting new people from other parts of the country as well as other cultures.

• Prep meats, vegetables, cheeses, fruits and pastries for upcoming service.
• Prepare, season and cook soups, meats, fish, vegetables and desserts in the restaurant kitchen and maintain work area for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities and/or equipment.
• Work schedules: 7:00 am‑3:00 pm and 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm;
  Sun‑Sat. One day off per week. Days off and shifts vary. 35‑40 hrs per week. OT varies after 40 hours.
• No minimum education or experience required.
• Must lift 50 lbs.
• Post‑employment criminal background check and drug testing upon employer’s reasonable suspicion.

• Wage – $15.96 /hour; OT varies at $23.94 /hour.
• Optional lodging available at $90 /week, deducted from pay if elected. Optional board & lodging available at $135 /week, deducted from pay if elected. Housing deposit of $150 due upon arrival.
• On‑the‑job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure.
• Transportation and subsistence reimbursement details for H2B workers and after completion of the work contract or dismissal with specific conditions.
• Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $12.68 /day during travel up to $55.00 /day with receipts.
• Employer will provide workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12‑week period of total employment.
