Computer Help Desk Student Technician (Spring 2026)

Pay Rate: $13.73 per hour

The Computer Help Desk Student Technician will work approximately 15–20 hours per week. Responsibilities include first and second level desktop support, break/fix, AV support, software and hardware installation, and daily operations.

• First and second level desktop support
• AV support, break/fix, software and hardware installation
• Miscellaneous daily operations duties

• Knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications, Intel and Apple processors
• Customer service experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Must work in a team environment

• A+ Certification

Students must be enrolled at Southwestern Michigan College on a full‑time or part‑time basis (minimum 6 credit hours in fall/spring and 3 in summer). High‑school students who are dual enrolled and meet the credit hour requirement are eligible. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Visual acuity: ability to see tasks at arm’s reach.
• Work conditions: tasks performed inside and outside, subject to environmental conditions.
