THE OPPORTUNITY

The Head of Operations and Performance plays a pivotal leadership role at the GO Foundation, partnering closely with the Executives' team to shape the organisation’s long-term strategy, governance, and operational success. This position focuses on improving how the organisation operates, who it partners with, and how its strategic goals are defined, enabling the Foundation to thrive and deliver meaningful impact.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead governance, risk, compliance, grant funding, strengthen financial frameworks, and ensure the organisation is set up for sustainable growth.

  • Provide strategic leadership to the operational team to ensure the effective delivery of programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with the Executive team and Board to develop and implement organisational strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead operational planning, systems development, and project delivery, including implementations and upgrades.
  • Oversee governance, risk, compliance, insurance, and policy frameworks.
  • Manage contracts and legal agreements.
  • Provide strategic leadership of the internal budgeting and financial reporting including grant management and acquittal.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost efficiencies.
  • Provide secretariat support and prepare reports for Board and Committee meetings.
  • Own organisational compliance and liaise with the CEO and Board on legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Oversee HR policies and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
  • Implement risk management strategies to support organisational stability and sustainability.

Ideally, you will be/have:

  • Proven experience (Minimum of 7 years) in a senior leadership role / operational leadership experience within the nonprofit sector. This is just a guide, if this opportunity excites you, please apply.
  • Strong understanding of program management, budgeting, and financial oversight.
  • A strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the non-profit sector of Australia.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting and compliance would be preferrable but is not required.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
