SUMMARY: This role is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Smithers Winter Test Center (SWTC) and is a world‑class facility ideal for winter testing and conducting performance evaluations on vehicles, tires and components under the special challenges of extreme cold and hazardous road conditions. Further, this role operates various pieces of equipment including 4 x 4 plow trucks, tow behind snow groomers, water trucks, snow blowers and other types of snow removal equipment.

• Prepares various test surfaces in accordance with instructions of supervisors to coincide with test instructions.
• Operates various equipment.
• Fills equipment with fuel as needed, and records data as needed.
• Performs equipment inspections prior to using any equipment includes checking oil.
• Fills out incident reports as needed for any equipment repairs or any other problems that may occur.
• Cleans and helps maintain equipment as needed.
• Must have good attendance and attitude.
• Must be able to follow directions well.
• Must be able to learn quickly.
• Must follow all safety requirements and procedures.
• Assists other technicians in learning and may provide work leadership to lower-level technicians.
• Work effectively with others in a collaborative team environment.

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience, or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
