3rd Shift Lead
Manage the safety, quality, production and training of employees within the tarp fabrication area. As a working lead, you will become familiar with each process and eventually be able to train other employees in the safe execution of each job process.
Hours11pm-7am
Essential Functions- Ensure employees are properly trained in safety with regard to their position.
- Train new employees.
- Supervise team performance and productivity; support individual training and development.
- Work in assigned areas to support the needs of the shift and/or department to ensure quality production and on‑time order fulfillment.
- Encourage teamwork and communication among all Shurco operations.
- Coach employees, helping to resolve work‑related problems and informing the manager as needed.
- Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure it has been performed properly.
- Identify and resolve production and inventory challenges; work with other leaders to resolve issues.
- Identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements.
- Operate a forklift, as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to motivate and guide others to ensure performance in accordance with clear expectations and goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic and pay attention to details.
- Ability to lead and support quality, safety, and policy standards.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills- Read English, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Work with mathematical concepts.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
Current driver’s license and forklift certification.
Physical Demands- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to fingerprint, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Frequently walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally sit.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to high precarious places, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
- Noise level usually moderate.
Follow all safety directives and protocols at all times and help identify potential hazards or violations that should be addressed to ensure personnel and facility safety are maintained.
QualityMaintain a constant focus on quality assurance and continuous quality improvement.
