The Taylor Craftsman Apprentice learns the operation to manufacture product to high quality standards. They will learn the vernacular associated with our orders and be aware of production goals, anticipate problems that could impact long-term goals, and prioritize safety and quality. The role includes learning the construction of our doors, demonstrating eagerness to learn, and maintaining safety and quality as top priorities.
DutiesTo Include
- Consistently demonstrates and incorporates safety for self and others into daily activities
- Develops and maintains a clean, safe working environment
- Reads work-orders and performs work as assigned by management
- Maintains production pace while meeting daily production goals
- Uses tools such as table saws, miter saws, shapers, routers, various hand and power tools, pneumatic tools, and CNC machinery
- Prepares, finishes, or assembles components for the end product
- Uses shop management workflow software and handheld scanners to move work orders, inventory, and production parts through the process
- Performs duties in a manner that promotes teamwork
- Ability to read paperwork, interpret instructions, and exercise good judgment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, lift, and walk for long periods
- Work 10 hour shifts minimum
