CNC Machinist, Machine Operator
The CNC Machinist will program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes as part of the Flexfab Machine Build group. This role supports operations through custom-built machines and repairs, ensuring precision and efficiency in a dynamic service environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering designs and convert them into CNC programs.
- Utilize Solid Works and Master Cam software for programming and design tasks.
- Perform machine setup and ensure accurate operation for part production.
- Support the Machine Build team by:
- Providing efficient, personable service.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Managing tooling inventory.
- Assisting with other machine build activities as needed.
- Maintaining shop cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with machine build, engineering, controls, and operations personnel.
- Prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Work overtime as required, often on short notice.
- Participate in skill-level testing as needed.
- Journeyman certification OR Certificate/Associate degree in CNC machining or related field.
- Completion of an accredited CNC machining program (minimum 40 credit hours).
- Proven experience in CNC programming and machining.
- Strong technical aptitude and desire to work in a machining and machine build environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
- Proficiency in Solid Works and Master Cam.
- Experience in machine building and repair.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. regularly.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and machine components.
- Visual acuity for reading blueprints and performing precision measurements.
- Tolerance for repetitive motions and working with machinery.
