1st Shift - General Labor

Location: Grand Rapids

Staffing Inc. is seeking a motivated General Laborer to join a metal manufacturing facility in Walker. We are looking for a reliable individual who is ready to start immediately. The ideal candidate will play a key part in the department's smooth and efficient operation. Your main responsibilities will be to learn and perform various tasks that support production and help ensure the highest quality products for our customers.

General labor Responsibilities:

• The Packer is responsible for visually inspecting and packing items for shipment.
• Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Inserts items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
• Binds containers with proper material, i.e. tape.
• Weighs parts for count.
• Makes and applies identifying information (labels) and shipping instructions onto containers.
• Posts weights, shipping charges and affixes postage.
• Ensures information is accurate and conforms to order.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Keeps work area clean and neat.
• Abides by all policies, procedures, guidelines of the company, including conformance to good common sense safety practices.
• Each employee will be responsible for the quality of their production.
• Training team members on technical job duties and responsibilities

General labor Qualifications:

• High School or equivalent.
• Must read and write in English
• Experience in shipping, packing, inspection, and/or postal experience.
• Computer literacy. Will be scanning, making and creating labels.
• Bending, twisting, reaching, etc.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
• Walking on a level surface for periods throughout the day.
• Continuously lifting 35lbs throughout the day.
• Reliable and punctual
