This employee performs a full range of practical nurse assignments. The work requires substantial knowledge of proper methods, procedures, basic nursing techniques, and methods. The employee works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse at all times.
EducationPossession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
ExperienceNo specific type or amount required. Michigan licensure as a Practical Nurse.

New hires and returning employees after more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET), either 40 or 80 hours of initial in-person training, based on their level of offender contact and job classification. Additional online training will be required to complete their non-custody training.
