Beacon Dowagiac is a 25-staffed bed hospital delivering specialty care and 24/7 emergency care, plus a Level IV Trauma Center. Our hospital is a destination for specialty care such as heart, cancer, stroke care and women’s health. Swing Therapy beds for skilled nursing and rehabilitation are also available.
What You’llDoAs a Registered Nurse,you’llprovide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, as well as monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. You’ll also serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. You will note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
You will assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

As a Registered Nurse,you’llbringa high levelof knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques and your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. Youdemonstratethe interpersonal skills necessary toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors,physicians and others. Youdemonstratethe ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
Youhave an understanding ofthe need to be responsiveandreasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
