American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring active MI licensure and 2+ years of ER experience.

• 39-bed hospital emergency department providing emergency, primary, surgical, and specialty care
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Two weekends per month required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Navy blue scrub dress code

• Active MI RN license required (compact license not accepted)
• 2+ years of ER experience required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Active TNCC certification required
• NRP certification highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Skills checklist pertinent to ER specialty, current within 1 year, required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required

• Provides direct patient care including triage, history-taking, vital signs, and patient assessments
• Initiates immediate care independently in life-threatening situations when a physician is not present
• Performs complex and simple nursing procedures and assists physicians with procedures
• Provides discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance to patients and families
• Responds to ambulance radio calls and provides pre-hospital care orders independently
• Works with sophisticated equipment in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Assignment includes coverage for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
