There are four openings for the Grounds Worker position. One opening will start as soon as possible, the other three will begin on or after April 1, 2026. The Grounds Worker performs basic grounds maintenance work using hand tools, walk‑behind and riding motorized equipment. This is a temporary/seasonal position
, working 40 hours per week for up to 1,000 hours in the calendar year. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2:30 pm and the rate of pay will be $18.20/hour.

Responsibilities
  • Mow, edge, trim, and aerate lawns.
  • Weed, water, fertilize, and spray lawns.
  • Assist with pruning duties.
  • Snow and ice removal by hand and with motorized equipment.
  • Litter and leaf removal.
  • Routine maintenance of groundskeeping.
  • Moving bleachers and/or picnic equipment.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Michigan driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Good mechanical aptitude/abilities.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in grounds maintenance and operation of mechanized equipment.
