Mortgage Field Services Inspector

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The inspection purpose is to:

• Verify property occupancy.
• Report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos once the property has gone vacant.

• Perform inspections taking 5–6 minutes per case.
• Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops in an assigned territory.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

1099 position with a flat rate per inspection. Rates vary by county and volume. Equivalent earnings are approximately $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban/rural location, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. No set minimum inspections per month; work is consistent month to month.
