The Cook’s duty is to work with supervisory staff to prep, set up, and deliver quality food across all production areas, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation. Cooks must perform efficiently and professionally at all times.
Essential Job Functions- Plan, prep, set up, cook, and serve high-quality menu items in assigned outlets, following standards and plating guides.
- Maintain organization and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
- Apply food safety guidelines for cool down, labeling, and storage.
- Work across multiple areas such as carving station, specialty stations, buffets, banquets, deli, and steakhouse.
- Read menus, recipes, and perform basic math calculations.
- Communicate effectively with guests, co‑workers, and management.
- Arrive in proper uniform for scheduled shifts.
- Cross‑train and support related operations as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent culinary skills or ability to learn quickly.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Adaptable to changing work environment and flexible schedule.
Minimum age: 18 years. Preferred: at least 2 years of kitchen service experience.
Equipment UsedDishwasher, fryer, broiler, steam kettle, mixer, slicer, steamer, grill types, freezer, cooler, hot box, knives, juicer, sauté station, etc.
Typical Physical Demands- Lift up to 75 lbs.; stand or walk entire shift.
- Reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift, and carry as required.
- Handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Work productively under strict time constraints.
- Work in crowded, loud, warm, humid, and smoky environment.
- Under constant surveillance.
- Possible confined space work.
- Follow OSHA and Health Dept. safety policies.
- Flexible hours: days, evenings, graveyard, weekends, holidays.
- Tips may be received; all tips declared and subject to tax.
- Native American and Tribal preference applies.
- Background investigation and drug/alcohol urinalysis required.
- Must take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain company confidentiality policies.
